FNB's Vague Rejection of Home Loan Application

My wife and I are looking to get a new home. We have been paying a bond for just over 5 years without one missed payment. We just want a bigger home for our kids and we can afford it because we have full time employment and I even make consistent regular extra income. FNB rejected my first home loan application in 2016 with vague response about the rejection, though I knew I qualified. We recently app**** for a home loan for a property we love. It is double the amount of our first property, but both my wife and now earn comfortable salaries and have "good credit records" based on these credit systems that they use. Yet FNB rejects our application siting "The Credit Bureau shows an unfavourable record against one or more of the applicants". Yet when we go on our credit records, the statuses for both of our records are on good, considering that we have a home loan (that we are settling because we already have a signed offer to purchase agreement), cars and a credit card that none of us have missed payments for, with no other external accounts on credit. This vague response only makes one question if this is not about race because their rejection doesn't even site "affordability" as a concern. I have had two cars since FNB rejected my loan in 2016 and I have paid off both cars without missing one payment for either. I don't have clothing accounts or none of these so called unnecessary credits. I don't want the loan from FNB any longer, but I thought I put this out here because someone else will go through something different. That person or couple will most likely be young and black. We have worked so hard consistently for a decade building ourselves, trying to create opportunities whereby we can invest into a future for our two children, but some of these institutions will go out of their way to make sure that your hard work doesn't pay off in the long run. Making you wonder, who is long term investment for in a country that they say everyone is equal in?
