FNB'S ************ BEHAVIOUR

Since when is it OK for a bank to conduct a search for any of my other accounts to, without my consent, debit whichever account they think is a good one to choose with the instalment due on my credit card. According to the call centre FNB thinks its all good to do this.

I have been paying IN EXCESS of my instalment by EFT on due date for the past 7 years at least. I am being told by the call centre that it is now compulsory for all cards to have a debit order to "manage the bank's risk". So all clients, irrespective of their credit behaviour are treated as if they do not conduct their accounts in a responsible manner.

The next story I am being told is that because the unauthorised debit order is processed from another bank (Standard Bank) it takes 7 days for the payment to clear !! This renders the card useless for 7 days AFTER YOU HAVE TAKEN YOUR PAYMENT FNB. When I used to make the EFT from Standard Bank the funds there was not ever a delay in clearance - I pay on the 25th and payment is reflected on the 26th - as simple and effective as that.

Not a single call or any other form of communication from FNB to, at the very least as a courtesy, discuss their new , completely one-sided and unfair "risk management" approach.

I take great care in managing my credit in a responsible manner and being treated as if I don't infuriates me.
