FNB's how can we help you should be "How can we help you make your life a nightmare in the time of coronavirus"
My name is Jason N****woagu, an FNB customer. Fnb put a hold on my Gold Business Account *** name of business is Zara Records Pty and my Savings Pocket account no *** on the 17th of April 2020, I have been calling the ***** line countless times but they just put me on hold until I get a dropped call and have to start the calling process all over again. When I finally got a hold of a consultant, she informed me that a ***** case was opened on my account by Nhlamulo Baloyi and gave me a case no ***. This was on Friday 17 April. I made several attempts to call her and sent her emails throughout the weekend. Seeing that I wasn't getting any assistance, I went to an FNB branch in Hatfield Pretoria on Monday the 20th of April, an FNB staff member at the branch by the name of Mpho called the ***** line but they kept putting me through different desks and later they hang up and said that the only person that can help me is Nhlamulo Baloyi. However, she is non responsive and increases even more anxiety. She blatantly ignores calls and emails. Today, the 22nd of April, I went back again today to the FNB branch in Hatfield and after so many calls they finally put us through to her and she told me that the reason she put a hold on my accounts is because I received R6700 into my business account and that the R6700 was paid from a ********** account. I explained to her that I trade bitcoins and that I had sold Bitcoin worth R6700 on a bitcoin platform called www.paxful.com to a paxfull user id StockyMyna157. My problem is that I have already released (sold) the bitcoins to this user because I had received the R6700 in my account. Nhlamulo Baloyi even requested that I send screen shots as confirmation of the transactions, which I did. I emailed her all the screen shots of my conversation with this bitcoin buyer and the confirmation that the bitcoin was released successfully to this person, I do not understand why FNB still freezes ALL my account, even the my personal account and the transaction was made with the business account. Nhlamulo Baloyi promised that she will call me back by end of business day today (22nd April). Its end of business day, she has again went AWOL and the bread and milk I promised my family? Still a pipe dream. I have been waiting patiently out in my car for her call, afraid to face my wife and kids with empty hands again. The worst part is with the current state of affairs in the country, FNB does not seem to be empathetic to its customer. I am a sole provider for a family of four, I do not have any access to my money and we all know there is currently a high demand for food and toiletries. Their policy promises a 5 day turn around time but I have been waiting for the hold to been lifted on my account for 6 days now. I have not been able to buy bread and other necessities since last week but FNB is moving at a snail's pace. Why am I being punished for ******** activities their ***** department should have blocked from the start? It seems like ********* are able to get away with the crime but FNB customers are there to bear the grant and pay for the ******** activities. The role of banks is to assist us in carrying us through this pandemic, not making life even harder for us. Whatever happened to "How can we help you?" Please, Im crying out for help, we are running out of food and toiletries but I have money in my account.
Thank you for your efforts in helping me get a resolution. Ms Nhlamulo called me on Friday the 24th of April after 16:00 and she asked that I go back to Hatfield branch on Tuesday 28 April since Monday is a public holiday and give her a call from the branch in order to resolve the issue. I will keep you updated on the matter.
Kind regards
Jason

Following my last report, I went to the bank on Tuesday 28 April . I went with high hopes. Ms Nhlamulo asked that I go with my wife because she would transfer the funds into my wife's account and required that she get a bank stamped account confirmation. My wife and I got there at 09:00 and in her true form, Ms Nhlamulo ignored the calls from the Hatfield branch, we kept trying and at times she would answer and drop the call. The consultant at the branch can also attest to that. After countless calls and emails as well as a queue from other customers increasing while the consultant was spending time with us, the consultant finally reached her on her cellphone. Unexpectedly, she then says the matter is still under investigation and they will not be able to resolve as per Friday's promise. I could not believe it and I was livid. My wife and I were planning a trip to the grocery store after that (it has been four weeks of handouts and hand-to-mouth eating). I tried to made her understand. She then said they will remove the hold from one account (mind you, the account where the transaction took place, I am still baffled at when or how the investigation on that was concluded) but wont remove the hold from my savings pocket which is where most of my money is saved. I begged her. She said she would speak to her manager, by the name of Mahlatse and that I should wait for her call. I waited at the bank, worried about exposing myself to so many people at the bank. I waited. Still no call, she wouldn't pick calls and the bank even closed. Later, she called around 16:00 and asked that I send her my alternative bank account details so she can transfer the money into the account. Because I have been loyal to FNB, I never cared to open an account at another bank and now Im in a fix. I asked her to transfer the money into my personal account with FNB that isnt blocked and she refused. I asked that I withdraw the money from the branch, she said the bank doesn't keep cash, I even asked her to order the money but she says her policy doesn't allow. On Wednesday and today, I braved the Cornona pandemic and tried to open accounts, 2 banks said they are not opening new account during lockdown, and the other bank's system wasnt working. I have been exposing myself everyday. I tried calling Ms Nhlamulo again to explain my situation to her but she isn't picking my calls. It will be another weekend without proper food and toiletries. I am broke. I need my money. Can you please help me appeal to her to order the cash or transfer the money to my personal account with FNB. Please. I would really like to be done with this issue.
