FNB....How can we “NOT” help you!!!
After many positive reviews about FNB, on Saturday the 18th of August 2018, I went into an FNB branch in Pietermaritzburg and decided to open an account. The service I received at first was excellent. The account was opened successfully and I informed the consultant that I was leaving the country on Thursday the 23rd of August and asked if it was possible to get the card before then. The team leader Sandisiwe informed me that she would notify the courier service and that I would receive my card by Tuesday. They asked for flight details to prove that I am leaving which I provided. By Tuesday I got no word back from the bank or the courier company, so I took it upon myself to go into the branch. They told me the card was in Durban and would be delivered by Wednesday. Wednesday morning came and I got was told the card was in Johannesburg. So I agreed to fetch the card at a branch in Johannesburg as I was spending my last day in South Africa in Johannesburg. Then Wednesday afternoon I get a call to say the card is in Durban, by this stage I was highly confused and also very stressed. We called the courier and they said they would send it back to the Johannesburg branch that I requested. When I arrived in Johannesburg I called Sandisiwe and she told me that my card was at the branch. Soon after that I got a call from the courier service telling me that my card was in Durban. So at this stage I was highly frustrated and I had no idea who to believe. I called Sandisiwe again and she called the courier service and then I was told the card would be at FNB O.R Tambo by 4pm. When I went to the airport branch around 6pm there was no card and my flight was boarding at 6:30pm. My Mum has been in and out of FNB since the day I left, and I have had no assistance. It takes days for people to reply to my messages and I was promised that my card would be delivered to me at my school in Abu Dhabi at the cost of FNB. I was asked for an address and contact details which I sent 2 weeks ago. I still do not have a card and no correspondence from FNB. I will not pay for a service that I have not received. How can you help me? Keep your account and I will carry on banking with the bank I have been banking with for the past 9 years.
