FNB Zero Account Trauma
I opened an FNB zero account and never used it, however, I received a SMS in May25 that it had been placed on hold. I recieved an eWallet in Aug25 and to my surprise the funds were automatically deposited into the supposedly held up zero account. I went to the branch in Sandton to find out how I can access my funds. The helpful assistant informed me that she had to do customer verification first. We did the required verification and was told to wait 48hours for the hold to be lifted automatically. But to my dismay and utter disappointed, I was told 48hours later that FNB 48hours are only counted within its operating hours (meaning that FNB 24 hours is actually 3 business days). So 48 hours is actually 6 working days. I am still horrified by this process as I really needed the funds urgently for emergency situation that I had encountered.
I am highly disappointed by this outcome. I had requested to close my account, however, was informed that I had to wait for the hold to be lifted and then request for he account closure.
FNB please review your process to make it also workable for the customers.
I am a highly disgruntled customer and pushed into closing this account as it doesn't serve it's purpose of making bankib easier for me.
