FNB XENOPHOBIC & threatening to close my account each year
For the past few years FNB has been targeting me due to the fact that I have a foreign name. They always threaten to close my account and when I investigated, they do that to people that they believe are laundering money and yet all my income comes through this bank. Never once have they reached out to find out why there are changes in my spend/income patterns. When I complained, no one could give me a reasonable explanation. It seems been a citizen in SA doesn't mean anything. Everyday int he news you hear of people using their accounts ********ly and yet the banks always miss those ones and want to harass me, year in, year out!

30 Jul 2025, 11:00Another issue I have is that I have an open homeloan application with FNB and due to the seller not meeting criteria requested by FNB Homeloan valuation team, it's been dragging for over a year now. 1.My previous banker told me that after a year FNB will review my affordability and is a way for me to get out of the contract - hasn't happened 2. Norton rose told me that I would still need to pay costs if the contract did not proceed and yet I met all my obligations and this has not been caused by me but noone at FNB seems to have a way to help me with this issue and it's been extremely frustrating. You are quick to want to sell me an upgrade on my card but yet you offer no help and rather spend time threatening me to close my account!
