FNB - Won't close my cheque account

About 2 months ago, i requested my card to be cancelled as there were suspicious Uber transactions going off my cheque account. I never recived a new card as i wasnt using the account and if i needed anything i would do it online.

On the 19th April i was at the FNB in Centurion mall, I requested closure on my cheque account. I was told there was a transaction of R180 (With no date or any other information) that was pending on my account. I was informed by the branch manager at the time that they would request a release of these funds and my account would be closed. I recieved communication via sms that my request was not resolved.

I went back to the branch on the 23rd April, i had to explain that i wanted to close this account as i am incurring bank charges on it and im not even using it. I was told that my request was sent to the incorrect team and that it will be sent again to the right team.

On the 5th May theconsultant gave n ea call to update me that the request was sent through and the team came back stating that the account can not ne closed untill the payment of R180 is paid to where ever i swipped my card, in the mean time i incure bank charges for money i dont know who it belongs to or when this transaction happened.

I would like my account closed immediately. FNB charges are just too mach for me to handle for an account i dont even need.

I advised the lady to liaise with Boitumelo in Centurion mall who was assisting me already so they don't silicate efforts.

Today I received an sms stating that my dispute.

I have sent an email to Boitumelo after struggling to get hold of her over the phone. I need someone to resolve this matter, I will not be liable for the negative balance on this account as I have been trying to close this account for a month now.
