FNB withholding funds from my account balance

In 2020 when we went under a hard lockdown I lost most of my income. Due to this fact I had debit orders bouncing one after the next. FNB still charged me up to R100 per debit order that bounced and I also had to close my account because no money was coming in and they were still charging me the monthly fee on top of all that. I later was able to open a new account. I am back in the same position again regarding very little income. I noticed this morning that my balance and available differed by a whopping R1000 - how can this be. I did try the 087 number and it took me 2 minutes to get to actually speak to someone then for some reason we got cut off. This is a real nuisance. Why can't I access all funds in my account. It is month end and debit orders will bounce. If they bounce your bank charges up to R100 for bouncing which I have to pay. This is most unfair. I am tired now of this nonsense seriously. FNB is holding back R1000 of the money in my actual account. This is not right. If a client has X amount in their account then X amount should be available. I haven't used my account in 3 or more days. I am not getting answers and I am really not happy. The Facebook page is also not very helpful. They take very long to respond most times and when they do they invariably tell you to go to your nearest branch or call an 087 number. I am fed up. If my debit orders bounce again the bank is going to charge me again even though the mistake / fault is with them and not with me. Should I report this to the ombudsman or just once for all take my banking elsewhere?
