FNB will not support you when it REALLY counts
FNB's lack of response, avoidance and disinterest been of the highest standard. Never in my 40 years of business experience have I had such a fine example of disgustingly poor service. They excel. I don't get too angry, I just get even, and am happy to say that whenever I get the chance, AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY(and that will be for many years to come), I am telling and will tell my story. The good news is that the damage to their reputation and the loss of income they will lose, because of my story, WILL WAY EXCEED the the money that involves me. My goal is to make sure that they lose millions in revenue by steering existing and potential income away from them. It's my mission. HERE'S MY STORY
I subscribed online with a 3rd party(Linked In) on a trial basis, for 1 month, with the option to cancel before the month was up, and thereby, upon cancelling, would not be charged. I cancelled 3 days before the month's trial expired. However, the money was deducted. I was notified immediately via my cellphone the money had been deducted and immediately called FNB. They informed me that the money had not left my account yet and I could log a dispute which they would investigate and that the process would take about 3 weeks and then I would get feedback. Nothing would be paid until the dispute was settled. I logged a dispute and received a reference number.
Shortly thereafter I was sent a document to explain how I have tried to resolve this with Linked In. I got hold of my personal banker and informed her that, as is so common now days, I could not get hold of Linked In, so I couldn't resolve it with them. However, I sent all I had, re the cancellation, to my personal banker, who forwarded it to the relevant people. that was 2.5 months ago.
While I have had contact with my personal banker regards this, NOT ONCE HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY ANYONE TELEPHONICALLY AT FNB. Not once has my personal banker called me, to give me any updates, information ect. Not once. It's always me who is making the call. They are just not interested. Nothing has been resolved. Simple as that
Clients and prospective clients, don't be fooled, when it comes to a bank really supporting you when it counts, FNB IS NOT THAT BANK. Currently looking at other banking options. Discovery and Investec look like options PS: Been a client of theirs for 25 years+.
