FNB will leave you vulnerable to ***** and their investigators wont communicate.
After my phone was ****** and my online banking hacked into ,FNB froze my account for suspicious activity. The next day I visited the cresta branch and asked the clerk helping me if it was possible to keep the online banking frozen but unfreeze my card so that I could buy a new phone. The clerk told me this would be possible. A day later my account had been emptied by the *****sters and they also took out a credit card on my account. I spent three months trying to get hold of the relevant FNB departments but kept being given different email addresses for different investigators none of which ever even answered my emails and enquiries until I got the NFO involved and cc'd on the emails. After a protracted case the NFO sided with FNB on the notion that I hadn't informed the clerk that my phone had been ****** ( which makes no sense since that was the only reason I went to the bank that day) . Worse still they keep sending emails demanding I pay for the credit the *****ster took out on the account and threatening legal action even as the continue to ignore my emails to the addresses they keep giving me. Considering that they had investigators communicating with the NFO the fact that there was no inter company communication about my account is deeply concerning. FNB is not a safe place to keep money because should something go wrong they will not help and they will not even open dialogue about the situation. I would sooner suggest keeping cash under your mattress than the services of this bank.
