FNB, what is going on???? Such bad service

On the 31st May, I filled fuel and purchased oil for R586 from BP, the amount was dedcuted from my available balance as soon as I swiped. Today I was supposed to have R6700or so left but have R6100 instead, so when i enquired it at the FNB, Constantia, I was told that it was because the R580 did not go off and went off today

But it was taken off my avaialable balnce on the day i swiped, then again today?? the consultant went on by saying it is not a double debit, thats how it works with some vendors, the sms is not a true relfection of your balance

i dont get, to me it seems like the R580 was taken off twice, can anyone reesolve this???

Good Day,

Thank you for logging your complaint to us.

When you use your card to swipe at a merchant you will receive a sms notification advising that the amount is reserved and your balance will reduce. The amount will not show on your account until the merchant banks the voucher. Once the voucher is banked the amount will reflect on your account, this is the reason it can sometimes take a few days to go through your account. We do not have control over when a merchant decides to do their banking.

Please also keep in mind that the inContact SMS is purely for transaction alerts and not a true indication of your available balance. For an accurate reflection of your available balance please refer to your Online banking or Cell Phone banking.

Regards
