FNB, what are you doing?
I had a CC and a Cheq account with an overdraft with FNB which they were all too happy to give me at the time and enjoyed years of faithful service with me. However, when I lost my job at the beginning of 2022 and could not pay my instalments they were on me in an instant. FNB then decided to hand my cheque and CC accounts over to collection agencies. Separate ones I may add. Even without an income, I kept them in the loop and made minimum monthly payment arrangements with the companies, arrangements which I have honoured. Then, one day out of the blue I get a call to say my Cheq account was handed over from one collection agency to a new collection agency. New arrangements were then made with the new company with new account info. No updates were received pertaining to payments I made, in fact, some did not even reflect. Then 2 weeks after that (today) I get an SMS from CMC Attorneys threatening me with legal action if I don't contact them within 3 days and telling me I must pay a certain new amount as a minimum payment (which I cannot afford). They say FNB asked them to collect the full outstanding amount plus 21% interest! REALLY?!! I am struggling as it is and you treat your clients like this? Here I was thinking I was still going to bank with FNB once my accounts are up to date. So, first you say you understand my situation, then you hand me over, only to be handed over again, only to be handed over to attorneys (of which there is website for, no letter ever supp**** to me telling me why or to who). This is cray! So out of the 3 companies I have dealt with, can someone at FNB please let me know which one is legit and which one I should be making payments to and arrangements with? At the moment I have details of 3 companies all chasing me for the same outstanding amounts. And, can someone from FNB please explain to me why, if you no longer have my account, I still get daily notifications on an active account and card? FNB please come to the party. You are creating more frustration and stress on someone who is barely coping as it is already! And reading the HelloPeter reviews of the latest one, I am not sure if I trust them. Even the SMS they send out is terribly written with errors and capitals in random places like they are shouting and threatening. At least make contact and set a customer, a previously faithful customer for many years, at ease. I did not ask to loose my job.
