FNB wealth is truly the worst thing you could ever do to yourself.

On the 24th Of June I “received” a payment from a foreign company. I put inverted comas because I didn’t infact receive the money.

The money didn’t clear but the person making the payment sent me a proof of payment. On the 30th of June I sent the proof of payment to my banker (who I had to send the POP to twice because for some reason he doesn’t read emails fully) and asked him to investigate why I have not received the money. He then tells me he will send to forex, the next day I follow up and he tells me they take 72hours to respond. I then call them myself and they tell me they’ve received the mt103 (which is some proof of funds coming in) but the money hasn’t come into FNB account yet so they obviously can’t put it into my account, no problem this makes sense.

However I’ve received payments from this person before and it takes two days max to clear, at this point it has been a week so something is definitely wrong.

I ask my banker to contact the corresponding bank and he says no the person making the payment should do this, at this point I’m frustrated because the correspondence bank is linked to FNB and not the person making payment.

Eventually they tell me they’ve contacted the correspondence bank and they’re waiting for a response. It’s been two weeks and this correspondence bank has not responded, FNB is doing absolutely nothing to get a response or investigate why I’m not receiving my money.

The banker doesn’t respond to my emails and the forex person is even worse, I ask them what are they going to do now that the corresponding bank is not responding and they have started ignoring my emails. I’m so frustrated because there’s no way for me to contact this international bank other than through FNB because this bank works with them. There’s fees we pay to receive international payments but it’s clearly for nothing because FNB can’t help you when you need them to.

I want to say FNB wealth is the worst but I’d be lying, the entire FNB is horrible.

1. My mom’s estate is still not finalized (she died in 2020). She had a will with them. 2. I was ****med while on private banking and they didn’t give me my money back, said it was my fault. 3. Now this forex mess with wealth banking, I absolutely hate everything to do with FNB. 4. Oh I’ve also had my share with home loans, everything with FNB is soooo difficult😩😩.

FNB is the worst bank ever when you need them the most. Do not even bother upgrading your account because you’ll be paying so much in fees for absolutely NOTHING! I will definitely be moving soon as this mess is sorted.
