FNB. We put the hassle in hassle. Try us!

At FNB, we aim to make banking with us hassle-free. Really? The above is a quote used by FNB. I wanted to make an appointment at my local closest FNB branch today (as a new client with a business account opened at this branch last year). It was a mission from the outset opening an FNB account. The waiting, the waiting. The waiting in the branch. Googled the branch telephone number today to try and make an appointment. With worst case scenario call center experience, after too many redials with options with options and more options, a lady in Randburg eventually answered and informed me that I must go into the branch to make an appointment as I cannot phone the branch. Then I tried again, and a Thato said I can dial *** and had to press # to get to the specific branch (how was I supposed to know that? It is not general knowledge he said. No!). Francois answered and also informed me that they don't receive calls, but he will pass my message on to a consultant to contact me. He apologized for the difficulties I have with the FNB system. Thing is I am only trying to fill out a form after receiving numerous messages from a nameless FNB email that I need to fix information on this particular form or else the account will be suspended. If only I can talk to a person to assist me with the form as I don't understand the questions/language on the form. My FNB experience to date is all but hassle-free (with FNB. This is also my experience as a sports club chairperson with an inherited FNB bank account). Bad very bad.

FNB - reference number is: ***NF.

The bank responded by saying that they have responded privately to my message. I received a phone call yesterday while I was driving and I informed the person who phoned me as such. She did not phone back again. I realise now after looking at FNB reviews on Hellopeter that I should've not opened a bank account at FNB because the huge number of negative reports on FNB and their services is an early warning to rather find a friendlier more helpful easier to communicate with bank.
