FNB - We Cannot Help
I app**** for a sole proprietor business account some weeks ago. After sending all the documents five times and various proof of residence documents several times I still do not have the account opened. I have already deposited R1400 into the account. FNB has taken a service fee from the account even though the account is not activated yet.
After many emails, facebook and twitter messages, they requested that I submit my lease agreement. This I did upon which they rejected it again based on a clause that the premises is only for residential use.
So as a sole proprietor (just me) working from home as a consultant, my proof of residence is not acceptable and the account is not activated.
I find the incompetence of the staff and the FNB admin system is to blame for this bad service. Surely I am not the first person that works from a home office wanting to open an account?

The problem is now they do not want to return my money and ignore all requests for them to do so.

I opened the same account with the same FICA documents at Capitec in one hour. The documents are good enough for FICA at Capitec but not at FNB.
