FNB wants to increase an interest rate 6% in order to get a credit card increase

I am absolutely appalled by the lending practices at FNB. I currently have a credit card with them at a manageable interest rate of 14.75%. However, when I recently app**** for a standard credit limit increase, they decided to use it as an opportunity to squeeze me dry.

Instead of simply assessing my affordability for the higher limit, they came back offering the increase but attached a completely unjustifiable interest rate hike—blasting my rate up to an exorbitant "death rate" of 20.75%.

Where is the fairness in that? How does applying for a limit increase suddenly make me a 6% higher risk overnight? It feels incredibly predatory. Instead of rewarding a good customer, it feels like a bait-and-switch tactic designed to trap consumers into crippling debt.

I urge anyone looking to increase their credit limit with FNB to read the fine print carefully. I will certainly be reconsidering where I keep my banking facilities if this is how they treat existing clients. Total exploitation.
