FNB Virtual Credit Card Failure – Funds Deducted & No Resolution

On 13 July 2025, I used my FNB virtual credit card for an online payment. The transaction went through and then got reversed but on merchant side I got an error of the failed payment . I thought I should try again and the same thing happened only this time no reversal happened

I contacted FNB secure chat to inquire. They confirmed they were aware of the issue and technical team is working on it however no timeline has been shared. As of today I have numerous amounts awaiting reversal and it is still being held.

I’m now in limbo, with a large amount of money effectively “stuck.” The charge sits on my account, reducing my available credit, yet the payment never went through.

This experience has been deeply frustrating and financially stressful. Like others have said until FNB resolves these technical issues and communicates honestly with affected clients, I urge others to avoid using FNB virtual cards for any critical transactions.
