Fnb unpaid items ****!

Every month I have been getting on my statement charges between 200 and 500rand with ref: items unpaid. I have never understood these charges but had never taken action. On the 5th of March 24 I woke to find my account with a whopping R1700 negative balance with the references as items unpaid and I was like this is enough now.

I then enquirer with the agents in the the private wealth suite who are very rude and cut you off if I might add, and I was told that these charges where for transactions honored by the bank when there is no funds in the account. I then told them that’s impossible as I do not transact on my account when there is no funds nor do any transactions go through when there is no funds.

I then requested the specific transaction that were honored with no funds , only to notice that all the transactions specified were actually done between the 26th and 28th of April between Friday and Sunday with the monies being deducted immediately from my available funds. The transaction were then apparently only banked by the merchants between the 3rd and the 5th at which point fnb ran them through my acc for a second time and charged them as unpaid and charged me the amounts in penalties.

After pointing this out to the agents I was given a ref and 2 days later I was refunded 405 and 141. I then enquirer about the rest and was told that this was just a good Will gesture. I’ve since looked through my account for the past year and have noticed they do this every month especially over long weekends and holidays.

Just last month April I swiped my last funds on the 6th of April for fuel and my WiFi bill. On the 11th when the merchants banked the same transactions wer ran again and I was charged 270 for items unpaid. When I enquirer I was told I should always mention a positive balance which is total *******, my statement over the last year I have lost more than 5000 in these bugs charges.

I am moving my account to standard bank, including all my business accounts. You rob me and when I point it out you refund peanuts and tell me it’s a good Will gesture!
