FNB undervalues loyal customers

My wife and I have been loyal FNB customers for more than a decade each. We recently purchased our first home, and app**** for home loans to all the banks.

Even though we have pristine credit records, and we both earn very good salaries (my wife is a Private Clients customer, while I have declined FNB's offer to become one), FNB refused to offer us a home loan. Not "declined to offer us a good rate". Not "declined to offer us the 90% loan we were applying for". Declined to even offer us a loan AT ALL.

I can not fathom why the bank with which we do ALL our dealings, including have our salaries paid into, have investment and savings accounts, have financed our studies with, and have bought smart devices through, can not value us enough to even make an offer of a loan.

Meanwhile, ABSA has approved our application at a very attractive rate (better than we had hoped for), and we jumped at the opportunity, If FNB is unable to provide compelling reasoning why they place such little value on our loyalty, we will certainly move all our banking to ABSA. Their faith in us should be rewarded.

You can't take your customers for granted FNB. Our loyalty should mean something,
