Fnb: Unacceptable Decline of Credit

Today I want to share my ordeal with fellow Hello Peter people that I encountered when applying for credit at the "How can we help bank“ Recently I app**** for a credit card or overdraft at Fnb, but my application was denied due to incorrect info on my profie at the Credit Buro. This was due to Vodacom's negligence of not updating my profile at the Credit Buro of a contract that expired and paid off more than 4 months ago. This unjustified default against my name was finally cleared after a couple of complaints I lodged on Hello Peter! This was the reason that was conveyed to me by a Fnb consultant for the decline of my application for credit about a month ago, as the bank is informed by info of the Credit Buro. However, yesterday when I've checked my credit profile on the Pulse App, I noticed that this unfortunate impediment was finally removed and that my Vodacom account was closed. The app also recommended that I can apply for a credit card, which I then app**** for again. However, my application was again declined by the Fnb system! Now I ask myself, what is the problem? Is it that Fnb is discriminating against me or what??? I've been a loyal client of Fnb for almost 20 years and have an impeccable record with them, never failing to pay all my accounts! I previously had Fnb overdrafts, which I've paid off much earlier to reduce my expenses. I have 2 Fnb loans, on which I have already paid extra amounts of R7,000 off in total in order to settle these loans earlier! I have also paid some other loans off in the past year to improve my financial situation! This is clear proof of my responsibility towards my finances! Now Fnb is informed by a system that recommends a disapproval instead of being informed by a client's track record! I'm not asking for a pot of gold.... I'm just asking for credit of R5000 to help us through these difficult times! I feel like being treated like a blacklisted person by Fnb and this is absolutely unacceptable! If this complaint is not satisfactorily resolved, I will have no other option but to take my recourse to the Banking Ombudsman!
