FNB Unable to Fix Their Own Mess on My Account
Longtime FNB customer here and have multiple accounts, credit card, vehicle finance, loans and 3 business accounts and FNB can't seem to help me undo something they had done! In January 2017 my personal cheque account was placed on hold due to ********** funds being deposited into my account. Long story short, the issue was resolved after some time when myself and another gentlemen came to an agreement to split the loss. After this on around 16th January 2017, FNB removed the hold off my cheque account, since that day I have been unable to transfer any funds from my savings accounts or credit card. Since I did not need to access my savings or credit for sometime I just left it as is, bank staff were unable to tell me what the issue was exactly. Fast forward to September 2018, I visited Southgate FNB branch to find out once and for all why I was unable to access my funds and if they could fix it, and they determined it was because of the hold placed on my account last year. The hold was removed on the cheque account but not on any of the linked services it seems- Flexi fixed deposit, savings pocket, revolving loan or my credit card. This is all understandable, I never kicked up a fuss until now, so of course it was not going to resolve itself. Now comes the part which seems like a fundamental flaw in FNB's ***** prevention and customer care processes, where these two intersect. After visiting the branch twice and phoning three times, I found this out, only the person who originally placed the hold in Jan 2017, Imiel, now Imiel has since moved departments from whichever department to FNB Online ***** and he is unable to do anything on this matter since it is out of his jurisdiction. Anyone I speak to has the same answer, Imiel must remove the hold. I'm being shoved back and forth about an extremely old and one-would-think resolved issue. There should be someone with sufficient authority to see what's happened and resolve it you would think but I am yet to have any luck, the branch refers me to the call centre and the call centre to another department and I end up getting referred back to Imiel, whilst he has escalated this issue with his prior department, how long must one wait? This is a situation where a higher up should be able to fix in a matter of minutes, a clear mistake on FNB's part which they are unable to fix! Having dealt with the ***** department previously, I expect Imiel will get a response to his email in, uh, around 2-3 months. FNB just gave me an increased limit on my credit card, or did they? It's unusable. What if the person was no longer at FNB, help me! Extremely dissatisfied customer.
