FNB turns Paypal into NoPal

Paypal is recognized worldwide as the quickest, most efficient and affordable means of transferring money internationally. That is if you’re not in South Africa. FNB has managed to get their grubby hands on Paypal and currently have a monopoly on this kind of transfer. If you visit their Paypal services you are told that a transfer can take 5 – 8 working days. Prehistoric! If one used the old bushman method of a runner with a wad of notes attached to a stick it would reach most cities in the country before FNB electronic transfers. When I complained about that notice to Paypal Services I was told that was an “old” notice and that nowadays transfers take 2 -3 days. If that is remotely true, why not replace the notice? But it Is not, as I’ve just waited 5 working days for a transfer to be effected. On a previous occasion I waited about a week. I’m not with FNB but I have a Paypal account with them. I was a client for several years but quit because of the intrinsic inefficiency and poor service of FNB. In particular their Forex section was simply retarded when it came to sending money overseas. When I send money to someone in the USA, they get the money the same or next day. Why do we have to be so backward in South Africa?
