FNB - TRYING TO OPEN A CURRENT ACCOUNT

I am highly disappointed in the service I received with FNB.

Last week Thursday , 18th August I tried opening a Current account as I would like to move from Absa to FNB and have my salary, debit orders and day to day activities done with FNB. I currently have an easy account (savings) with FNB which I currently use for savings purposes only.

However, last week Thursday I chatted to two agents telephonically and chatted to one agent via the online chat on the app. I received the following information that due to the fact that I don't or never deposited R5500 or more into my easy account I cannot open a current account, I was declined. I then called in, chatted to a lovely lady who informed me to speak to someone in their "Switch accounts department". I then got through to someone in the switch accounts department who informed about the R5500 deposit every month as she wanted to switch me from easy to current, unfortunately that is not what I wanted, all I wanted was to open a current account. The lady I chatted to managed to open the current account, read the terms and conditions, asked me the necessary questions and as per the conversation everything was processed and I was informed that I will receive my card within 3 - 7 working days. Before she ended the call she also informed me that as I have the app, the new current account details will be on the app, today it is Monday the 22nd and still no evidence of that on the app nor any further information sent to me via email etc.

I called FNB today, chatted to another agent who informed me that my application for a current account was declined and that FNB tried to call me regarding that ? no call from FNB and unfortunately the agent could not inform me and explain to me why that has happened, she then transferred me to another department but by then I was so sick and tired of being transferred and not getting to the bottom of this by opening a current account ? Is it really that hard to open a current account and move from another bad bank to another bad bank ? So far, all I heard was good reviews about FNB but if this is the case I will stay with the bad bank I am currently with at the moment.
