FNB treats its clients as *****sters
FNB believes the *****sters and not its clients. I rented a car in Sep 25 in Milan from Europcar. On 30 Jun 26 an amount of R964.70 was debited to my credit card. I contacted FNB ***** on 5 Jul and was told the credit card was cancelled. I was issued with a new credit card. Yet despite this on 12 Aug 26 proceeded to collect payment for this *****ulent transaction via a debit order. FNB by way of a Maxine Khan have now asked me to answer the following questions. Proof that client tried to resolve with merchant Proof of cancellation Terms and conditions of merchant Proof of refund request / acknowledgement of refund Proof of purchase / invoice / booking confirmation / rental agreement Exactly which branch of Europcar should I attempt to contact? Using what reference for the payment? What would the Euro amount have been and how would I have known what the Euro amount was? I have previously been subject to abuse by FNB when I was almost de*****ed telephonically. Fortunately our local constabulary is well disposed towards me and agreed to open a case of attempted *****. The only problem was FNB and its employees refused point blank to provide any information to the detective assigned to the case. Apparently there is a small detail omitted when you hear the following "All calls are recorded and can be provided upon request" - what they do not tell you is you can only listen to the call in an FNB branch and they refuse point blank to provide a recording to SAPS! So I am not surprised that in this case FNB and its employees have not requested proof of a valid transaction from the merchant. Instead they expect the de*****ed person to provide evidence of trying to cancel a transaction which never occurred. If Europcar felt that there was still money oweing from the September 2025 transaction then it was incumbent upon them to inform me. Europcar has not done so. The most ludicrouns is the reference sent to me to day by FNB starts with ***9 - I reported the ***** the first time on 5 July! FNB are not serious about protecting their clients.
