FNB Three Rivers, No Client Service
Good Day, on the 5th of June 2026, I went to the FNB Three Rivers Branch to make a cash deposit at the atm. When prompted how much I wanted to deposit I proceeded to enter R20 000.00, when I placed the money into the ATM, it showed that it had counted R11600.00, I then (human error) proceeded with the transaction, as I had more notes to deposit. Once I had deposited all the cash I had, the total came to R24800.00, whereas the amount should have been R33000.00 in total. I immediately went into the branch and queried this and explained what happened. I asked if they were able to count the notes at the end of the day to see whether there was more cash in the ATM as I had R8200.00 missing. I was told they cannot help. I then asked to speak to the branch manager on duty. We then completed a claim form. I received reference number ***6 and was told to wait 72 Hours. I then heard nothing, not even a call. I then went to the branch today to go and find out, and was told, head office said the transaction was completed and referred the matter back to the branch in which they explained to me, means, they had to count the physically cash. I was told, they did count and it balanced. What evidence do I have? I understand it is my word against the bank, but this money was not mine and I have deposited hundreds of times in my life and nothing like this has ever happened. I need to repay the amount missing out of my pocket. I just feel like the branch is just pulling up their shoulders and not willing to investigate properly and I pleaded with them. If it is was an amount of R200 or so, I could understand. However, R8200.00?? I was also told they cannot check CCTV footage? If I had dropped R8200.00, certainly people that stood there would have noticed......
