FNB the most frustrating bank

How useless can a Bank actually be. Credit card expired and replacement nowhere in sight, even after reminding them that it is expiring.

FNB a bank that can take days, weeks or in some cases months to resolve client’s issues. Infuriating. Is this due to them trying to cut costs at the expense of client service?

Two weeks ago, I contacted FNB to find out why I had not received my replacement credit card, as my current card was expiring at the end of February. They politely informed me that the courier company would be contacting me for delivery. Awesome right. Well last Friday, 26th Feb, I thought, what happened to the courier company, checked my email and there is an email from the credit card division. "Please be advised that Mr Delivery is trying to get hold of you for your credit card delivery. Kindly provide us with your cell number or any number where they can get hold of you." So, two things 1. FNB has my cell number, they have been contacting me with all the other complains I have had recently and even if they didn't, surely, they would have let me know when I sent the query. Secondly, I didn't order a burger with extra fries and a drink, it is my credit card. I duly send an email back with my contact details but being Friday I though Monday right. Well not so much. Decided to contact FNB on Monday afternoon, well that is always a lesson in patience and frustration. Spoke to one gentleman, explained I am traveling on Thursday and need my credit card. He politely offered to give me the number for Mr Delivery number. Why is this my problem, number one, and number two how secure is that let see how this plays out. "Hi Mr Delivery you haven't delivered my credit card please deliver it to this address at this time, oh and I need a discount as it is now late. This is the banks issue, it is their preferred courier company. I was then informed he cannot help, and I need to go to someone else, please hold. Well guess what the line goes dead after a minute or two. Phone back, explain the whole story again and the kind lady says, “let me get Mr delivery on the line”. Phone rings and then a message “Sorry due to Covid we are not answering calls please send an email and we will get back to you.” the line goes dead. The FNB phone operator just forwarded my call to Mr Delivery. I have never seen such aptitude at passing the problem onto someone else in my life. I phone back, explain yet again what has happened up to that point and if they transfer me to MR Delivery I will cancel my Credit Card account and I requested to speak to a manager. Operator requested to try and resolve the issue first, I agree, and we get music. After a while she comes back and says she cannot get hold of Mr Delivery. What a surprise, THEY ARE A FOOD DELIVERY SERVICE, LOOK AT THEIR LOGO not a corporate courier company. She will transfer me to a manager of a different department. Wow no we are getting somewhere. After about 10 min she informs me “sorry, but the line is busy, I will send an urgent email”. So, what did I achieve in the hour I was on the phone and the 60 min airtime? I did find out how to cancel my credit card.
