FNB the bank that keeps on taking
On 11 February I sent proof of payment to FNB personal loans of payment of the amount of R113,119 which is A LOT of money for a single mom! I asked them to close the account. This was the outstanding money reflecting on my banking app. I have sent them proof of the amount reflecting on the banking app.
Despite this Thabi Tshabalala from FNB told me on the 19th of February that I still owe a further amount of R1,291.66 (settlement amount) to close the account. I rep**** on THE SAME DAY and asked them to deduct the R1,291.66 on the 25th of February when my salary gets paid in which FNB requested as settlement payment.
Despite THEIR settlement letter they deducted R1,748.52 (again more than what they told me or which was showing as outstanding).
When I enquired why an inflated amount was deducted, Eudy Funyufunyu told me on the 25th of February that the request to refund the overpayment was escalated to the finance and administration department and the turnaround time for the refund was 48 hours.
Despite this commitment, I STILL did not get the refund!! When I enquired on the 2nd of March Tshireletso Segano told me that the outstanding balance was R1,748.52 and there was no refund due. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!!!!!
Surely this is BASIC MATHEMATICS!?!?!?!?
Despite the inflated amount deducted the account is STILL not closed either!!! I can only assume it is to get more money out of me for account maintenance!?
