FNB - The bank that allows you to continue being ******

I was ****** on the 9th of April 2024, I went to the police station and opened a docket and the very next day I went to FNB to have all my cards cancelled as well order new cards. Important to note here as-well is how difficult it is to cancel your cards on your mobile app. The questions they ask are just ridiculous especially when you are in a rush to have the cards blocked. Moving on though. The following week, I saw a whole bunch of transactions for toll gates and plazas being deducted from my account. On the 20th April 2024, I went into FNB to collect cards but also to report this ***** case. As soon as I walked in the door and explained that my cards had been cancelled 10 days earlier they lady immediately asked me if it was toll gates and plazas, which in itself just goes to show they are VERY aware that this happens. I opened the ***** case and was told that it would take between 7 to 30 working days for the investigation to be completed. I then checked my bank account again on Saturday morning the 27th to find that there was an additional 7 transactions at toll gates and plazas. I once again called the ***** department and was told that they could blacklist the cards, immediately I asked why this was not done the same day I went in to cancel the cards. I was then of course told that they cannot assist me but have sent the emails to have the cards blacklisted/hotlisted. Not one person could give me any confirmation that they had been hotlisted so now I am terrified to put money into these accounts not to mention the R700 odd penalty that got immediately deducted on the 25th as the account was taken into arrears. I am currently as I’m typing this on hold waiting to get through to their ***** department once again and have been waiting for over 20 minutes - I can attach a picture if needed to show how long I’ve been waiting. This is the most disappointed I have ever been with this bank that I have loved and recommended to so many people for years. I don’t understand how if you are aware that this is an issue, why not immediately hotlist the cards? And how long do I need to wait for the almost R5000 that has been deducted from my account due to pure incompetence. The lady I dealt with at FNB on the day I went in to report the ***** looked at me and said “ I don’t know how to make sure this stops happening, it is so sad that even when you cancel your cards, you’re still not safe” so I’d like to ask all these consultants I have dealt with in person as well as on the phone, how would you feel if someone ****** you and made you fear for your life and then started draining your bank accounts of your hard earned money even when you have followed every procedure you can follow to ensure it does not continue affecting your life in a negative way and then have someone looked at you and said, “I can’t really help you ma’am” Please help. This is pathetic
