FNB takes far longer than advertised

FNB advertises widely that it only takes ten minutes to switch accounts. The on line form may take 5 minutes however after this I was told to submit documents, which I did immediately to the email that the call centre agent told me to send it to. It took FNB 7 days to send through my cards which in itself is already an issue. However, my frustration seriously increased when I tried to activate the new card on internet banking. Even though I had a physical card already every time I entered the card number it said I should enter a valid card number. After a few attempts, and double checking everything I had entered I phoned the FNB private clients help desk. The help desk was very unresponsive and simply said that my account is not yet FICA compliant. The help desk then told me I should have submit my forms to a different address, however no one had told me and there were no notifications regarding outstanding documents. And considering this is a private banking facility the bankers were exceptionally unwilling to expedite the processing of the documents.
