FNB Takealot / Mr. Delivery Card Delivery Service
So my credit card was due to expire, logged on to FNB and noticed that, cool they've added a new card to the system and that the card would be delivered in 14 days, also confirmed my delivery address is correct. Then I waited, nothing...
So today I decided to give FNB a call as it has been two weeks and my card expires today. Got through to the FNB representative, who informed that, yes they issued the new card weeks ago and that it was handed to Mr. Delivery for distribution. It sounded strange to me that Mr. Delivery aka Takealot delivers credit cards, but it sort off makes business sense. Anyways, the FNB representative gave me Mr. Delivery's telephone number, and I gave them a call.
I got through to a representative at Mr. Delivery, and was informed that, okay they have my card, but will only be able to deliver it next week, as the card is at their distribution center in JHB, the representative also told me that they had called me twice, which obviously is total BS.
The problem I'm facing now is, I'm traveling this weekend and need to hire a car, which I won't be able to do as you can't hire a car without a credit card. All the subscription services I've linked to the card, such as a couple of virtual servers at Digital Ocean, Spotify, Netflix, etc will also expire today along with the card. Thus I'll have to make use of alternative transport like a taxi or something, and won't be able to stream or listen to music whilst traveling. Needless to say I'm livid!!
It is common knowledge that Mr. Delivery can't even deliver a hot pizza, how the hell can FNB trust these goons to deliver bank cards? I understand the logic behind the partnership, but damn, why not use a reliable and competent delivery company like Parcel Ninja or Courier Guy for such an important customer facing role? I also notice that it is a fairly common occurrence here on HP that Mr. Delivery ***** up FNB's card deliveries, and give rise to the question why FNB, the worlds most innovative and coolest bank tolerate this.
Anyhow, what can I do... its going to be a difficult weekend. Thank you Mr. Delivery!!
