fnb system is not as wholesome as they think
I have banked with fnb for more than 10yrs. Each time I apply for a home loan they have declined me. This has happened 4times and guess what, other banks have granted me 4home loans each time they have declined me. Recently they gave me a NON-SECURED personal loan for R120K that I don't need @24,5% interest with repayments of R4300 over 5yrs, while they declined me a SECURED home loan of R200K with premiums of approximately R1500 @7% interest. I don't find the logic, unless it's just to make quick buck out of clients as person loans are given at 3times the interest on home loans. They gave me the personal loan, which I eventually declined and paid them back as it will not help me fulfill my plans at a cost of R2500+ (R1200 initiation fee and R1300 interest). My cheque account addresses and my personal loans account address and my credit card address are all different but they are from the same bank. This is a huge indication that their system which they claim to be the best does not share, process and update information from the same base or server. In other words, every client is a different person when they are viewed from, cheque account system and they become a new and different person when being viewed from home loans platform, vehicle loans platform and credit card platform etc. Unless they correct that, they will be losing a share in the market as ppl only bank with them for having a cheque or savings account while they get other products elsewhere. Their app has a new feature that calculates what funds you will have until yo next paycheck based on your regular debit orders and spending habits. But it doesn't include your regular credit transfers that one receives regularly, making it miscalculate one's estimates. So it doesn't really help to certain people. I guess it was designed for straight forward paycheck earners not some of us who are "side hustlers" always trying other opportunities and ways (legal of course) to make extra income. Perhaps it's designed for clients leaving from paycheck to paycheck without trying to improve their lives, just my views though. But perhaps they need to change their system so all platforms read from the same base or server in order to look at every client in a wholesome way not as 5 different clients in 1person.
