FNB suspicious SMS messages

I started receiving suspicious sms messages several times from various different numbers saying it is FNB that wants to verify details and that my FNB accounts may be restricted if I do not respond. A embedded link is attached in the message inviting me to click it. My phone immediately warns me that this maybe suspected spam or worse.

I then phone FNB ***** line and they confirm not to react or click on the link provided, as " FNB would never communicate in this way"

After a while I phoned the number supp**** in the sms and was somewhat surprised that it was indeed FNB sending these sms messages.

I explain on the phone that FNB, if sensitive info or source docs are needed, can communicate with me on a personal phone call, by email, on secure app chat etc. These are more acceptable and secure than links sent via sms.

I find out what they need and return documents needed via secure email to FNB. They respond confirming they now have received what they needed, and my accounts are fine and will on no way be restricted.

However I keep on getting these same SMS messages from FNB. I write them a long email highlighting how unprofessional this is and that I feel uncomfortable with FNB actions... It's making me question my FNB bank safety.

This last week of Jan 2024 I keep on getting these spam like FNB messages... Is there any way FNB can actually listen to me the it customer and stop communicating with me in this unsafe manner?
