FNB struggling with PayPayl

I have been trying to link my PayPal account to FNB for the past 10 days. I dont bank with FNB, but in order for ANY South African to have a PayPal account and to get access to your funds, you have to do it through FNB. (monopoly at its best.) I therefore had to open an account online. But before I could link my PayPal account I had to send through FICA documents, which I did immediately. I got an SMS 2 days later that's said my account is ready to link with PayPal. But everytime I log in the error persist that says I need to send my FICA documents through. I phoned FNB. Call 1, Agent 1: He will log a call and escalate the issue Call2, Agent 2: Agent 1 never logged a call like he said he would, I will follow up. Call 3, Agent 2: I did escalate the issue, let's wait patiently. Call 4, Agent 2: I emailed the correct department. I CC'd you in the mail.

Then a few emails followed from Agent 2 asking the correct department for feedback.

This morning- 10 days later - I got a sms again, saying my account is ready to be linked with PayPal. I logged in and the SAME error is there.

So please can someone tell me 1: WHY is FNB the only bank that you can link your PayPal account to and 2: If they are they only service one can use, WHY is it such a struggle. 3: If they're not even capable to link a PayPal account, do you think I will trust them with any funds I have?

AN UPDATE: FNB rep**** in private giving me a reference number and saying someone will contact me.
And they did - asking for my ID for the 4th time!
It has been 13 days JUST TO LINK a PayPal account.
No one knows what is going on - this is truly UNACCEPTABLE
