FNB still deducting account fees years after "THEY" closed my account!
FNB called me to say that they were closing my cheque account in 2019 due to me not using it and no funds running through the account. Fast forward to December 2021, I log onto my online banking which still had some FNB active accounts and i see my Cheque account is still active with an outstanding amount of over R5000. I Called FNB to find out what is going on, after holding on for over 30 minutes i eventually spoke to someone who said they have escaleted this matter and will contact me withing the next week as this account was not closed and the amount outstanding is for over 2 years of account fees. I have yet to hear from FNB. This morning I woke up to a "Legal Action" letter form a company threatning me with summons etc, and they have been mandated to recover debt, with almost 10% interest on FNB's behalf. Now can any person with some common sense please explain to me the logic behind this when the bank does not keep to their promises? What a joke!
Dear Valued Customer
FNB High Priority Complaint reference ********* has been sent to Customer Resolution Centre. ***.
A Consultant will contact you within 24-48 Business hours.
Not a single call or e-mail has been made to follow up or give me some clarity. On the other side I have your "Attorneys" still sending me mails.
This is horrible.
