FNB STI (Short Term Insurance) NIGHTMARE

Similar to other posters, I have had a nightmare with two separate insurance claims. One for the motor, and one for the contents.

Context: Vehicle accident - October 2023, handled atrociously, chasing and chasing, bad communication with the "assessor," who only had access to photos, and bad communication with the panelbeater. The work was done with cheap foreign replacements, and I insisted the repairs be replaced with OEM. I am still waiting for the panellists to get a hold of this. In addition, a hire car was only available when my vehicle was in the panelbeaters, even though it was undriveable, leading to increased expenses on UBER and reliance on others for transport.

Burglary - 29 December 2023 Still ongoing. I have been passed from pillar to post. The communication is also AWFUL. I am constantly told "will call you today by 3pm", "will contact you to discuss," etc; it never happens. The claim was approved, then unapproved, and then approved again, and I am still waiting for finalisation. Plus,, I have to request approval for the claim to be paid out in cash, despite it being nearly 4 months and I've already replaced some of the items, do not wish to replace others, and will like to decide how, where and when I purchase replacements in addition to having the option to upgrade or downgrade.

I have already moved my insurances elsewhere and will be moving all my FNB accounts (I am a private wealth customer) to another bank ASAP.
