FNB *****ing over R2300 from me
On 10/3 I attempted to pay for foreign travel using my credit card.
Due to the RIDICULOUS exchange rate levied by FNB, I IMMEDIATELY contacted card division to say the transaction needed to be cancelled.
The consultant told me I had to contact the merchant, so I did, and I asked them to cancel the transaction, which they did - on the same day.
However, I the amount reversed back into my credit card was R2380.25 LESS than was deducted.
This is simply unacceptable and I INSIST that FNB refunds me the difference.
To charge me R2380.25 to reverse a transaction that was never completed, by following the steps YOUR CONSULTANT INSISTED ON is THEFT.
FNB just says \the voucher and the refund were presented for conversion on different dates hence the fluctuation in the exchange rate, resulting in the differing amounts.\" (despite both occurring on 10/3) but regardless, the point is that when I called FNB to say CANCEL, THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO GET THE VENDOR TO DO IT. So, instead of the transaction simply being cancelled like I requested (which was ONLY due to the exhorbitent exchange rate), FNB has now charged me TWO SETS of exchange rates for doing WHAT THEY SAID I SHOULD DO.
DELIBERATE THEFT"
