FNB *****ing Money From Account
I noticed on my bank statement that there was an extra debit order that went off of R1818.00 on the 16th December 2021 from FNB which did not make sense as the only debit orders that should go off are the two personal loan debit orders which did go off.
I proceeded to call FNB and they tell me it’s a debit order for my credit card??? The debit order for my credit card is on the 1st of the Month not the 16th and that debit order never goes off because I pay more than the minimum amount to my credit card when I get paid!
The consultant proceeded to tell me that they cannot assist and that I should phone back the following day, I do not have time to wait 20-30minutes before getting assisted so I tried reversing the debit order on the app which is not allowed apparently so had to try Money Assist option but how long is that going to take?
And if this was in fact for my credit card, why is the money not reflected in my credit card account????? FNB just took that amount for themselves it seems.
I am angry that FNB just randomly decides to incorrectly take money from my account, I have budgeted for the festive season and that has all gone to hell because of FNB’s incompetence.
I want my money back asap
1. First off I am told that I should have known about the debit order since FNB sent a sms and in app notification about the debit orders going off earlier - I did not receive such communication!!!
2. She then proceeds to tell me that I am mistaken and that the money didn't leave my account, as the debit order was attempted on the 14th but there was insufficient funds and this was cancelled out by the debit order on the 15th - If FNB did their maths and actually looked at the account they will note that there was no effect on the account when there were no funds and if they took my salary that was paid the 16th less all transactions afterwards (INCLUDING THE DEBIT ORDERS) you will get to my available balance WHICH MEANS THAT THE FLIPPEN DEBIT ORDER WENT OFF MY ACCOUNT!!!
Now she is telling me to phone the different departments to find out if they received their funds - Excuse me but why the hell should I do that???? FNB made the mistake and now I have to sort it out???
