FNB *****ing from clients

I'm so disappointed (disgusted) in FNB Bank. I've been a very long client of theirs and never thought they would steel from their clients. On 6 December 2019 I went to FNB North Rand Road Boksburg with the plan to pay two accounts, one my son's school fees and then my FNB credit card.

I was advised by an FNB employee to deposit the money at the ATM because the bank charges are less that way. I never deposit money at the ATM because I don't trust it but this time I thought by myself just do it that way because I'll save on the costs and the bank is very busy (December and its Friday).

Not knowing how this works I tried to do it by myself because the person that's suppose to assist the ATM clients was busy. I'm try to pay my son's school fees first (R12,000.00). Being very cautious because I know I'm in South Africa and woman alone with all this money, so I tried to be a quick as possible. The ATM said I can deposit a 100 notes at once. Standing there with R12,000.00 in 100 & 200 notes I don't know how many notes is in my hand and I stuck all in at once. The ATM rejected some of the notes which I took out and continued with the deposit. That transaction came to R9,100.00 . I continued then to deposit the rejected money that came to only R1,100.00 , that's when I realized the ATM took R1,800.00 of my son's school fees. I immediately brought it under the assistant's attention and she told me just to relax and fill in a dispute form and they'll come back to me in this matter, but while I was filling in this form I've learnt that earlier there was a client that jammed the machine and that I'm not the only one that was filling in a dispute form for the same ATM machine.

The assistant helped me to pay my FNB credit card R15,000.00 on another ATM and she explained then only to me how to make these deposits. I handed in my dispute form and waited for them to come back to me. FNB contacted me on 10 December 2019 just to say that their ATM balanced and is disregarding my claim. I asked them to please recheck because I know for a fact (I'll even take a polygraph test if needed) it was R12,000.00 on the dot. I personally went in to the branch the 12th of December 2019. A lady came out to speak to me with a peace of paper that she stated that the ATM balanced. I told her that I don't agree and would like to speak to someone higher up in the bank. I also said to her why would I want to go through all this trouble to claim money from the bank if I'm not a 110% sure of my case and why wouldn't I have taken some money from my credit card deposit if I'm sort to pay my son's school fees. I've been paying that whole week off on all my accounts (large amounts) so that we're debt free for the new year 2020. I'm a very up straight honest person and have more important things to worry about than thinking up something as stupid as claiming the ATM took R1,800.00 from me.

The lady told me to follow a assistant to a computer and lodge a complaint online. I've done so. I've received a sms to state they've received my online complaint. On Friday 13 December 2019 I received a sms stating "no details to investigate" and that I should go back to the branch. Now no one want to help me because the know we as clients will give up because what change do we have as a simple law abiding citizen living in South Africa.

P.S.: just wonder what happened to the other clients dispute....?
