FNB states via SMS that I did not honour a promise

Last week I made a commitment via the automated FNB call center system to pay an outstanding amount of R1625.30 by the 4th February 2016.

I honoured this commitment to pay this amount and transferred the required amount, as promised, into my Cheque account.

This morning, I received an SMS stating that I did not honour the payment? Which is incorrect?

I am aware that my account is still in arrears - thanks to excessive fees for returned debit orders - but my original commitment was honoured! I am in the process of sorting out the remaining arrear amount, but don't appreciate being told that my word and promise was not upheld.

I am frustrated with the bank that in a time of desperation, such as when a debit order get returned unpaid, the banks further charge exorbitant fees, thereby just putting the account holder further into a hole that is impossible to get out of, all thanks to charging me R138 for a R16.50 unpaid debit.

Please get your facts straight.

Regards,
Matthew
