FNB Spousal Accounts: Mastering the Art of *****ing From Not Just From You, But From Your Entire Family Too!
If FNB's "Helping families get more value from banking" slogan was meant to be a joke, the punchline would be on us—because all they've done is help themselves to our money while delivering nothing of value. My wife and I were nagged for months to upgrade her account so she could "enjoy the same banking benefits" I do, like earning eBucks. Eventually, we caved and upgraded her account at their Northgate branch. The banker assured her that matching my account would unlock eBucks rewards... Simple, right?
Wrong.
One month later, no eBucks. We thought, maybe it just takes a while to reflect.
Two months? Nothing.
After giving FNB the benefit of the doubt again and again, my wife decided to check with FNB—turns out, the problem was her not calling them to link her account to eBucks.
So... whose job is it to make sure the product she bought gets fulfilled? Apparently, not FNB's. She was promised eBucks automatically with the account. No one said she had to jump through hoops for them after leaving the branch.
It’s clear FNB is happy to take your banking fees, but fulfilling their promises? Not so much. They blame the customer instead of taking accountability for their useless sales pitches.
FNB, either backdate the eBucks to the date we upgraded the account—because that’s what was promised—or refund us the past months' fees for failing to deliver. We upgraded in good faith, you charged us in bad faith.
"*****ing made easy—bring your family!" Forget "Applying made easy." FNB should rebrand that to "*****ing made easy—bring your family along for the ride!"
And as for their so-called "Rewards that take you places"? Yeah, FNB, you took us places alright—right to the land of frustration and disappointment. Instead of rewards, we got excuses.
