FNB Somerset Mall - Consultants not trained or able

Surely something as simple as getting an additional card on an existing account can't be stuffed up? Oh yes it can if you go to FNB in Somerset Mall and speak to Mr Banda. Regardless of how willing and seemingly helpful he was, he just couldn't carry out a simple instruction to issue a card for an additional person, in that additional persons name (ID presented to ensure he understood who needed the additional card). So my poor husband after wasting nearly an hour in the branch (on his only day off) gets home to me and I log on to find the additional card has been issued in my husbands name - and so I am unable to link the card it to my banking profile. The solution according to the telesales person on the phone (where I waited for 15 minutes to be answered) is... to go into the branch to have it rectified. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING.

Reviewer Update
After being promptly contacted by an FNB staff member the situation went from bad to worse. The staff member informed me that in order to get an additional card on a bank account held in good standing for 22 years for an adult with her own FNB bank account that has also been in good standing for 22 years BOTH people have to GO INTO a branch to sign mandates. So the information given to me by the call centre several days before my husbands visit to the Somerset Mall Branch was also completely wrong - a real double whammy and proof beyond all doubt that the staff at FNB have no idea of the rules and regulations because they are SO DIFFICULT. What is the risk after all in issuing a second debit card to the account owner? You can't spend the money unless the account is fluid.... The sooner all branches and call centres are closed, and everything goes online and on apps, the better in my opinion.
