FNB Sneaky Overdraft Fees

This morning I woke up to find that FNB had helped itself to a R69 overdraft fee from my account, which was a big surprise. On closer inspection, this was the result of another unexpected fee of R10 having been deducted earlier in August. This was infuriating to begin with, as I had signed up for this current account thinking my fee includes all EFTs, but FNB sneakily added a R2 fee for the trouble of payments to non-FNB accounts. (Yes, it was nicely hidden in the 48 page 2025 fees document...)

This is a really disappointing turn from FNB, who used to be reasonable with fees. I feel myself being pushed towards the newer, more competitive digital banks as a result. I do not need an overdraft, yet I can't have the account without it. A declined fee would be much better than R69 for the sin of going into a R10 (FNB created!) overdraft.

Please reverse these fees.
