FNB “SLOWPOINT” — Speedpoint Failures Are Hurting SMMEs
FNB Speedpoint systems are failing SMMEs when they need support the most. The reality is simple: the machines work when taking money, but when businesses need their funds settled on time, the delays begin and support becomes slow.
My client, a loyal FNB business client, successfully processed a Speedpoint cash-up transaction on 26 May 2026 at 10:22:17. The receipt is available, all transaction details correspond correctly, yet the funds have still not reflected in the account well beyond the normal settlement period.
This issue is now affecting business operations, staff payment obligations, and critical financial commitments. The matter was escalated through the Business Advisor to the Finance Team, but there has been little urgency in resolving an issue that directly impacts a small business’s ability to operate.
As someone who has coached and supported this business for over 6 years and consistently recommended FNB to entrepreneurs and SMMEs, this experience is disappointing and damaging to the bank’s reputation among business owners.
