FNB Share Investing & Online Banking / Unfair treatment and lack of response
On 07 Dec 17 i bought shares via FNB online. On 08 Dec 17 I have decided to buy some more shares, than I saw that the share quote was R 0.10 per share where I than bought x amount of shares.
After the transaction reflected on my account, I saw that I was charged R 5.64 per share. FNB failed to inform me to what had happened. I gave it a day or so to see if it would be rectified. I did not change at all. I than sold 30 shares to see what would happen to the profit. The profit was absorbed by the outstanding debit balance.
On 11 Dec 17 I took the initiative to log a query with FNB with regards to the matter.

Regretfully did I never receive any response from them.
On 18 Dec 17 I phone FNB to try and find out what was going on, because at this stage I was already frustrated because I could not make any further trades.
During the call made to FNB, I spoke to Micheal where he had told me that they had problems and that someone should have gotten back to me already during last week. He than said that a specialist will call me back. A few minutes after the phone call I checked my online account where I found that FNB removed my shares from my account without any notice ever since.
I immediately phone back where I than spoke to Michelle. Michelle mentioned that I could keep the shares at the price of R 5.64 and then settle or else they must sell it off to cover the outstanding debt. I insisted to speak to her manager since i was not happy with how things went wrong with out proper clarity on the whole situation.
Again after no feedback, I decided to phone FNB on 19 Dec 17. This time I had spoke to Navashnee who informed me that they tried to contact me during last week with no success. They then proceeded yesterday after I have explained the whole situation to them, to take my share off of my account and to start selling them in order to meet the settlement amount.
I have received no phone calls from FNB with regards to the situation at hands. Neither have I received any sms/emails to inform me that they have tried to make contact with me. Till this day I have not received any feedback or mention of the query I have lodged on 11 Dec 17.

Navashnee also informed me that other clients had the privileged of keeping their share and selling it at a profit whiles settling their debit balance. She said that Friday the 15 Dec 17 was the deadline for these debit balances. By failing to inform me with regards to this issue, they now took my share with out any notice and started selling them off in order to settle the debit balance. If I had been informed in time I would have also had the privilege to sell the shares at I profit during last week and settle the outstanding debit balance.
I feel that this is very bad service as this is my Main bank for many year. I have also been a loyal customer. I feel that FNB should provide fairness to all of their customers.
