FNB secures themself and lets you get **********

I just learnt the idea to discontinue email in contact notifications for transactions on accounts. This affects all FNB customers. All in contact messages are being pushed to the app and we are expected to read the app or keep it with us at all times.

This poses a security risk, and with my recent interaction with FNB I am told they reserve the right to change their security measures - which is hilarious because this opens the door for major ***** and theft.

For example, if you want to know if transactions are happening on your account, you must carry the FNB App everywhere you go. No longer can you take a cheap phone with you with no banking apps on it and still know if there are shady transactions on your account. Now, because I must carry the app with me it aids ********s in *****ing my money because I have the app with me and they will know this.

FNB doesn't even think of the user experience or consider the security of their customers, they are happy to increase security measures "on their side" so its less blame for them if something goes wrong. They take your money and then blame you when ***** or theft takes place. Why not give customers a choice for email notifications?

If the excuse is emails are costing money - then your business is in serious trouble if you cannot afford to send an email.

Thank you FNB for contributing to the financing of our ********s in SA - without you, it would be tougher for ******* to get their income.

I just remembered - what if your App on your phone with MTN is down (which happens often) so you have no internet connection on that phone but another device on a different network has a connection?

You won't get an in-contact notification because they are removing emails so even if ***** is taking place you will never know until the network on the phone with your app is restored, even though the other device with a connection could have received that email for a transaction you know is shady.
