FNB ****??

What a shocking experience I had with First National Bank. I got an SMS last month saying that if you change your bank to an FNB Premier Cheque Account, you will receive R2,000 and a sim card with airtime and data on. I was previously with Nedbank and for 15 years they always gave me reasonable service and I was satisfied. But the thought of having an extra R2,000 in your account just for changing your bank account sounded like an offer that was too good to be true

Now, I understand that certain criteria had to be met, e.g. R16,500 that has to go to your account (this I did), downloading the FNB banking App (which I did), register for eBucks (which once again I did)

Now, with the R2,000 being due, I am now being told that because I have some sort of debt review under my name, I cannot get the R2,000. Please help me here, what does debt review have to do with the fact that I cannot get a promotional gift from FNB. It is not a loan/credit facility that I am applying for here but it is a bonus for all the effort that it took me to change from Nedbank to FNB. Does this make any sense to anybody out there..or is this just a **** from FNB to get people to join their bank. And why for heaven's sake did FNB not tell me when they first did the application that this was picked up. I am very confused, frustrated and disappointed at this whole process. Can one not lodge a formal complaint by the banking Ombudsman to convey my grievances regarding this matter? Because if it was not for the R2,000 bonus, I would never, ever have left Nedbank. I think FNB ****med me. Now, I have to wait 48 hours for them to get back to me. What pathetic service is this???

Lastly, I would like to say a big thank you to Jules Le Grange who is the personal consultant at FNB Blue Route. He has done everything in his power to get to the bottom of this and all his efforts in this regard are highly appreciated
