FNB running allowing purchases on BLOCKED cards

Not only am I angry at FNB but I am disgusted at the same time. FNB allowed a PURCHASE of more than R2000 from another company to be processed on a card BLOCKED more than 2 months ago, from an account with no money using a VIRTUAL CARD with a CVV that is supposed to change every hour to protect from cyber incidents such as this.

When I called to confirm that the card was indeed blocked, as per the app, they asked me to cancel that same card because the block is a "SOFT" block - whatever that means. Little did I know, this was so they could cover their own tracks. Their investigation (conducted in less than 2 hours) is now saying that my card was never blocked. Then they asked me to complete a dispute form that requires a card number, which I conveniently no longer have as the card has been deleted.

What is worse is the fact that both the heavy transactions went off without me being notified but I cant even swipe R15 without being notified. I dont know what is more concerning, FNB not taking accountability for this or the act of attempting to sweep this security flaw under the rug and pinning in on the customer.

I cannot help but make some dangerous assumptions on my part. Both as a customer and a tech savvy individual with payment industry experience. As if that is not enough, they are refusing to raise this as a ********** transaction because I know the service provider.

I have every intention of not only taking this to the banking ombudsman and every single agency there is for a proper investigation on this and the *********ly act of covering it up. The VIRTUAL Card is not as secure as advertised.
