FNB Ripping Clients off as usual
FNB where do I begin? I have a credit card with FNB and this card has been active for a few months maybe almost a year if not longer. According to my knowledge my account is paid by myself monthly usually I pay it just after pay day on the 24th of every month. This month my salary was paid on the 22nd and I decided to pay my credit card as usual I paid R1800. On the 25th I saw a debit order of R1600.00 that went off. I had no clue what this debit order was for. I called a few places and they confirmed they did not debit my account. I then decided to call the bank they said my credit card went off on the 25th. Now FNB don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the debit order going off, however I do mind the fact that this was never communicated with me prior to me making payment on my credit card meaning that for the month of March I had to pay my credit card twice which unfortunately I did not budget for. This is now resulting in me reversing this debit order paying for the reversal as well as having a debit order reversal on my name because FNB lacks communication. It’s funny how the client must suffer for a mistake the bank made and they still cannot take ownership of this.
Sello Leketa who firstly refused to give me his name and surname advised me that the debit order has always been in place ever since I took out my credit card. He said the reason why they never debit previously is because I paid my credit card 3 working days before my payday(24th). This information is false as I do not pay any accounts before I get paid and I also get paid on the 24th and the debit order runs on the 25th.
He then came back and advised me that an SMS was sent to me and I was supposed to respond to that SMS which would give them authority to debit my account. I never received any SMS meaning FNB never received confirmation from me to debit my account.
- They charging me to reverse a debit order that they never discussed with me. - This is also going to reflect badly on my credit record but they just don’t give a damn. - I requested to speak to a manager and no one was available to assist- typical when you have a problem is goes from 'how can we help to "we cannot help" – PLEASE CHANGE YOUR SLOGAN !!!!!!!!
Worse service received from FNB definitely will be moving my business elsewhere:)
Kind Regards,
