FNB retirement annuity tax
Good day
I opened an FNB retirement annuity around 2020.
The plan was cancelled. And the funds were paid to my then FNB account.
It happens that 2022 I started working out of the country. This year 2023 I filled my tax return as required. SARS advice that I couldn't filled for it as the directive tax was captured incorrect by FNB to SARS.
I have for numerous times called the FNB annuity department for assistance. Been told I will get a callback once someone knows what to do, as they are finding the information. That was around July.
August 21st final I got someone who was willing to assist me and log the query for me. He was very helpful. His name is Kim. Called the department on ***.
I ask him to provide the call reference number ***.*** and he did. As I was tired of calling the bank and get no help.
Kim called me back and advised within 24 hours I will be assisted.
Today as am writing this I haven't received anything from FNB.
This has affected my leave as am in south Africa to solve my SARS issues. As a foreign tax payer other documents I must receive from SARS I can't get them as am not a compliance tax payer.
I have logged a complaint with FNB complaint department Query Reference ***Q. I received an email to be contacted within 24 -48 hours. That was 31 August 2023. Nothing I have received from FNB. SARS is been penalising me for not filling my taxi since 2021.
FNB retirement send the incorrect amount to SARS, hence my directive tax is rejected. It has been a nightmare to deal with this issue.
FNB agent can't even give me a turnaround time. No one knows. All they keep saying is 24 hours will call you back. It was going to be even better to know the turnaround time for them to resolve this.
I regret the day I opened that retirement annuity with FNB.
