FNB Reserves R27 000 without my consultation

FNB- What gives you the right to reserve funds of R27 000 from my account without the necessary contact?

According to the Elize Sanders and Manager Tivolen Naidoo from the Risk Department on the 22 of January 2018 - I was contacted on my cell number. An sms was sent to my previous number on file. Last year when my contact number was updated, I guess someone did not remove the old number yet my new number was updated as I receive my OTP'S. FNB - how do you contact a person on one number and sms them on another. Furthermore you have no sms report of failed or undelivered sms's so you presume a consumer receives the sms. Is this the contact measures you have in place for reserving funds, be it R1 or R50 000.

I have an overdraft facility and I am no longer employed since October however my overdraft was settled as I received a deposit that covered my overdraft however in 3 months you have not contacted me but suddenly one day of contact according to you gives you the right to reserve funds from my account. Has anyone bothered to call me several times to get through or leave a voice message perhaps - its not as if the number does not exist when you tried to contact me on my cell. If you did bother to call me, you would know I will be getting a salary as I have started my own business and hence there is no salary for the last 3 months.

After logging onto my online profile today I saw what transpired and contacted FNB. As per Elize Sanders, she was only doing her job and that meant reserving funds even without proper measures. This is just the standard response of your staff - Where is " FNB, how can we help you"???

As per Manager, Trivolen Naidoo, learn to try "welcoming consumers feedback" but clearly you did not want to so. Although you work at a Financial Institution and according to you another company cannot be compared but guess what almost most companies send out an sms so if you think FNB cannot be compared or you did not want to take my feedback to make it easier for other consumers, then I am hoping the receiver of this email would take my feedback into consideration:

FNB - contact someone several times and make sure you speak to someone before reserving their funds. FNB - Teach your staff how to update numbers correctly on the system because of someone I have ended up in this situation and although I have updated it twice with them!!! FNB - Learn to get a delivery report on Outbound sms's and don't "assume" someone has received it. FNB - you cannot do this to consumers - I will be seeking legal advice!
